Here is a list of 5 Free Summer Fun activities to do with the kids in and around Atlanta.
Centennial Olympic park provides a place for people to hang out and enjoy music. Every Wednesday night from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm for Wednesday Wind Down from June until September.
Atlanta Children’s Museum provides educational programs and exhibits for young kids ages 0-8. Target free Second Tuesday is a special opportunity for the community to bring their children to experience the museum for free, between 1 pm – 6 pm. Target free Second Tuesday hours are 1 pm – 7 pm for June and July only. Free admission is made possible through the general support of Target.
Governor’s Mansion provides public tours Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 10 am and 11:30 am. It is a great way to learn history about the state of Georgia and view the mansion.
Ho, ho, ho! LEGOLAND Discovery Center Atlanta invites children to get into the holiday spirit early this year with its annual Christmas in July celebration. During the peak summer heat, families are encouraged to cool down at Buckhead’s premier attraction by bringing new, unwrapped and unopened toys to LEGOLAND Discovery Center, benefitting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In exchange, generous gift givers will receive a Kids Go Free voucher, valid with the purchase of an adult ticket.
Mayfield Diary Farms in Braselton, GA allows you to see how your favorite Mayfield products are made with a fun educational tour of the location.
And last but not least, your local library allows kids to join their Summer Reading Program which uses the Beanstack program to keep track of reading activities, earn digital badges, and collect prizes. Prizes include free kidz meal at Zaxby’s, Gwinnett Braves tickets, Laser Quest tickets, and a chance to win a Chromebook computer.
Although these are free events, remember you may have to pay for parking.
