Super Bowl LI (that's 51 for those who are like me and can only count up to 10 in Roman numerals lol) is here and whether your team made it or not every one LOVES to partake in the festivities. Now, we all know that wings are the staple snack food for football season. It's estimated that Americans will consume 1.3 BILLION wings during the Super Bowl this year, YIKES! So, here's one of my favorite wing recipes that my friends and family go NUTS for no matter the event.
You'll need the following ingredients:
- A bag of wingettes (or more depending on how many people you're feeding)
- Unbleached Flour
- Seasonings: pink Himalayan sea salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, cumin
- Honey: 100% Pure or Wild organic
- Hennessy Pure White Cognac
- Canola or Peanut oil
- Baking Sheet
- Ziploc bag
- Deep fryer or big deep pot
Pre heat oil in a pot or deep fryer. Clean wingettes, dry them off with paper towel and season with salt and pepper, set to the side in a bowl large enough to hold them or large Ziploc bag. Get another bowl or large Ziploc bag and add flour. Season flour to taste with all seasonings listed above. Add wings, in batches, to seasoned flour and toss to coat, try not to crowd them. Fry wingettes, in batches, until golden brown, again do not crowd them in the pot or deep fryer. Place cooked wings in a clean bowl, drizzle honey and then "Henny" and toss to coat. Place a piece of aluminum foil on baking sheet, then place wings. Put in oven to broil on HIGH for about 5 mins so that they get nice and sticky and crispy, be sure to keep your eye on them so they wont burn. Remove from oven, let cool a little and ENJOY!
