Ready to Save Some Money?

Aren't you tired of spending tons of money on cleaning products? I know I am! I love to find new ways to keep a few extra dollars in my pocket which is why I'm so happy to share this cleaning recipe with you. Do you ever buy carpet freshener? Of course you do. We all do but you can make it yourself for a lot less dough and it works exactly the same way as the name brands. You can also add your favorite essential oil for fragrance like: lavendar, orange, tea tree, or peppermint. Another extra bonus is that bugs do not like essential oils so not only will your carpet be fresh, but bugs will stay out of your home. Here goes the recipe:

1 Cup of Baking Soda

10 Drops of essential oil (your choice)

Container (I use an old fashioned Ball Mason jar)

Put all of the ingredients in the jar and mix them up. Let the mixture sit overnight so that the oil and baking soda can dry and incorporate together. Since the Mason jars have those nifty tops remove the inner seal, replace it with a piece of paper and screw the top back on. Then, poke holes in the paper. You now have a shaker top. Shake that carpet freshener all over the carpet, let it sit for 10 minutes, then vacuum it up. You now have a wonderfully smelling house!
